Local flower shops prepare for Valentine’s rush
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) -Less than two weeks remain until Valentine’s Day, and local florists are gearing up for what they say is by far their busiest day of the year. Florists said that they needed to order their flower displays back in December, and that flowers are proving to get harder to find the closer we get the holiday.

Temporary lane closure in Mankato
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Beginning at 8 a.m. today, a portion of Park Lane between Sibley Parkway and Woodland Avenue will be temporarily closed for electrical utility work. The closure is expected to reopen later in the week, weather permitting.

City of Mankato warns people to stay off storm water ponds
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The city of Mankato wants residents to stay safe, which includes staying off storm water ponds. Although storm water ponds have aesthetic value, they are ponds with a purpose and are designed to specifically catch contaminants in water runoff from storm drains and remove them before water goes into the river.

MSU wins over Missouri Western State
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The Minnesota State softball team halted a late rally by Missouri Western Saturday night to win 7-6. The Mavericks will travel to Emporia, Kansas next Friday to play in the Emporia State Softball Classic Friday and Saturday.
