Boy, 14, fatally shot by gunmen while walking down Bronx street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 14-year-old boy was ambushed and killed in a suspected targeted shooting in the Bronx on Wednesday night, police said.

The victim was shot once in the torso by two men as he walked with a friend on Morris Avenue, near E. 182nd Street, in the Fordham Manor section around 9:15 p.m.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police sources told 1010 WINS there is video of the shooting. It shows two masked men dressed in all black crouched behind a car. They emerge and open fire as the teen and his friend walk past.

The friend was not injured in the shooting, according to police.

The NYPD said it appears to be a targeted shooting, but they’re still investigating who the exact target was, as well as the potential motive.

No arrests had been reported as of Thursday.

Murders are down 11% across the city as of Sunday, according to NYPD data, and shootings are down 16%.
