A man called for help at about 9:30 on Thanksgiving night and said "that a man had entered his residence. He stated that the man did not live there. He stated he knew the man, but he was not supposed to be there, and dispatch could hear a verbal altercation taking place."
holding down a gentleman...
The location is not being revealed but a Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy responded and wrote about finding the caller “and another family member holding down a gentleman later identified as Mr. Erik Henriquez. We separated the parties, and I began asking questions to find out what had taken place. Mr. Henriquez was making statements that did not make sense and immediately became irate with deputies. He made statements that he would come back and ‘do it again.’”
Henriquez shoved past him and began looking through the house.
According to the arrest report, the man who called 911 said he was with family when “he heard banging on the door and went to see who it was. He stated that when he opened the door, Mr. Henriquez shoved past him and began looking through the house. [The caller] stated that he told Mr. Henriquez to leave, but he refused to leave. He stated Mr. Henriquez was being verbally aggressive. [The caller] stated that at some point, Mr. Henriquez walked out into the backyard. [The caller] stated that he heard an altercation taking place outside and went outside to see what was happening. He stated that he saw Mr. Henriquez fighting with [a woman]. [The caller] stated that he observed Mr. Henriquez holding [the woman] in a ‘chokehold.’ [The caller] stated he then physical [sic] removed Mr. Henriquez from [the woman] and was able to hold Mr. Henriquez down until deputies arrived.”
her family does not like him, and so she does not let him visit
Henriquez had some sort of relationship with the woman that was blacked out from the report.
“She stated that Mr. Henriquez does not live at the location, nor does he visit there,” the report said. “She stated that her family does not like him, and so she does not let him visit there. She stated that Mr. Henriquez had been texting her and sounded very drunk and angry. She stated that she was there in the backyard and could hear banging on the front door. She stated that at some point, Mr. Henriquez made it into the backyard where she was standing. She stated that he physically grabbed her and had his arms around her. She stated he was trying to get her keys and her phone. She stated that she was in fear and was afraid he was going to try to hurt her. She stated that she believes he entered the residence where he does not reside with the intention of finding her and hurting her. She stated that she believes that if [the caller] had not pulled him off of her, it could have escalated even further.”
At this point, Henriquez was going to be charged with burglary with an assault or battery, with burglary meaning entering a building with the intent to commit an offense.
deputies had to redirect him against the car...
But that wasn't all.
The arrest report continued, “While deputies were attempting to place Mr. Henriquez into the back of a marked green and white unit, he was refusing verbal commands to stand still during the search. He continued to lean back and turn his head back. He then refused commands to get into the car and deputies had to redirect him against the car as he was resisting to enter the car.”
statements that were not making sense
That got Henriquez also charged with resisting an officer without violence.
The deputy added, “When I asked Mr. Henriquez what happened, he stated to me ‘f___ you, suck my d___.’ I was unable to get much information from Mr. Henriquez. However, he stated he had been drinking and smoking weed. He continued to make statements that were not making sense about the incident and deputies’ involvement once we arrived on scene.”
Erik Henriquez, 25, was booked on Friday, Nov. 25, at 2:51 a.m. and released in lieu of $1,000 bond after nine hours, at 12:14 p.m.
The arrest report did not mention any facial injuries to him.
