Caltrans is no longer screening vehicles for chains on I-5 at Fawndale, according to the CHP incident page.

UPDATE, DEC. 1, 9 AM:

Truck traffic is once again moving along I-5 at Fawndale, according to Caltrans. All vehicles are being screened for chains.

UPDATE, DEC. 1, 8:02 AM:

Caltrans District 2 announced this morning that Northbound I-5 is closed to all big rigs and vehicles with trailers at Fawndale due to weather conditions.

Original Story, NOV. 30, 9:15 PM:

Caltrans District 2 officials announced all vehicles are being screened for chains at Fawndale—10 miles north of Redding.

Caltrans says in order to continue traveling north on I-5, all vehicles will be required to have chains.
