A 10-year-boy is facing a reckless homicide charge as an adult for allegedly shooting and killing his mom.
A neighbor talked to WISN 12 News' Kristin Pierce about what he heard and saw the morning of Nov. 21.
"The only thing I heard was the screaming," said a neighbor who did not want to be identified. "I really didn't expect (it) so early in the morning. I thought they were just arguing or something but the screams, you could feel it."
Milwaukee police say the shooting happened near 87th and Hemlock streets.
According to the criminal complaint, Quiana Mann's 10-year-old son shot her in the face at close range, killing her. The boy said his mom would not allow him to have something from Amazon that he wanted to have. He also admitted to being "mad at her for waking him up at 6 a.m. when he usually sleeps until 6:30 a.m."
The complaint goes on to say the day after the boy is accused of killing his mom, he went on her Amazon account and ordered a virtual reality headset. He also allegedly apologized for the shooting saying, "I'm sorry for killing my mom." He then asked if his Amazon package arrived.
The boy, who 12 News is not identifying because of his age, is being charged as an adult with first-degree reckless homicide. If convicted, he could face 60 years in prison.
"You don't want something like this to happen to anyone at all," said the neighbor. "She's a really nice lady from what I could tell you guys she's really sweet and a nice lady."
His last image of her was ingrained in his head.
"When I looked out the window, I saw the police and fire department was outside," he said. "It lasted for a couple of hours and the last thing I saw was them bringing out her body. It was really difficult and heartbreaking to see someone who lives in your neighborhood and know something unfortunate happened. It really breaks your heart."
A GoFundMe account describes Mann as a mother of four who was compassionate, loving and kind with a smile that could light up a room.
Mann's funeral is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2.
