WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — One woman was shot in the leg in Winston-Salem on Wednesday night and taken to the hospital, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Officers responded to West Sprague Street around 9:35 p.m. when they were told about shots being fired into an occupied dwelling.

A 53-year-old woman was shot and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say the suspects fired at the home the woman was in from a dark-colored vehicle.

No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
