A mother and her four children, all under 8 years old, were injured after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn Wednesday evening, police said.

The mother was with two of her children while she waited for her other two children to get off of a school bus, police said.

The NYPD said, as the car approached New York Avenue, the school bus had a stop sign up, but the car didn’t comply with the rule.

The car sped by, struck the mother and her four children and fled the scene, police said.

According to the NYPD, before the incident occurred at Avenue J and East 32nd Street, the car was stopped by police for a routine traffic violation.

Police said EMS transported the mother and her four children to Maimonides Medical Center and are in stable condition.

Authorities said they found his vehicle unoccupied at Glenwood Road and East 24th Street.
