Snowstorm cleanup is in full force across Duvall. KOMO News spoke to homeowner, Scott Paul after he bought a generator on Wednesday to combat the power outage.
“The power’s been out since 11 last night," Paul said. "Food- you know, it’s cold so we put it outside and it seems to be doing fine. That post-Thanksgiving turkey is still surviving!”
Meanwhile, his daughter shoveled inches of snow from the driveway. Down the street, a few girls enjoyed their second snow day and walked downtown where a couple of businesses were still closed.
WSDOT crews continue to monitor the roads.
“Winter weather we’ve had this week has been challenging but we have crews working 24 hours a day, working 12-hour shifts, monitoring the road conditions, treating them with the plows,” Aisha Dayal with WSDOT explained.
While the power outage caught Paul's family off guard, they and others are making the best of it.
“[Have to] get all the videogames going and the TV and the Netflix,” Paul continued.
Puget Sound Energy said thousands of customers were without power in the area Wednesday morning. The outage map showed less than a couple hundred by Wednesday evening.
WSDOT reminded drivers to go slow in snowy conditions and give plows plenty of space.
