Bay District Schools needs volunteers for mentor program
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay District Schools is keeping busy with its Elevate Bay Mentor Initiative. Governor’s transportation proposal expedites widening of Back Beach Rd.
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Monday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced his proposal for a record investment aimed to alleviate traffic across the sunshine state. A whopping $7 billion would be going towards 20 priority projects, including one in Panama City Beach. DeSantis’ proposal supports millions of dollars in funding to widen US 98, or as locals call it Back Beach Road.

Two Bay County men arrested in string of tri-county burglaries
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Two Bay County residents were arrested in connection to a string of burglaries across Bay, Jackson, and Washington Counties. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies say on December 11th they tried to do a traffic stop on a Toyota pickup truck on State Road 77 in Wausau. The driver sped away before wrecking the truck in a wooded area nearby.
