HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A man has died after a shooting Wednesday evening in the Fairfield West area of Huntington, according to a Huntington Police Department news release.

The victim was 40 years old and from Huntington, officers said. He was taken to a nearby hospital before his death.

The shooting was reported around 6:10 p.m. near the intersection of 9th Avenue and 18th Street.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A shooting sent a person to the hospital Wednesday evening in the Fairfield West area of Huntington, Cabell County 911 dispatchers say.

The shooting was reported at 6:09 p.m. near the intersection of 9th Avenue and 18th Street. There’s no word on the extent of the victim’s injuries.

Officers with the Huntington Police Department are investigating.
