Heavy rain is expected to hit the Central Coast on Thursday. Here's a timeline based on current storm data from Wednesday morning to help you prepare for the coming rain.Wednesday8 p.m.: Possible light showers ThursdayMidnight: High winds begin to ramp up with gusts up to 40 mph.6 a.m.: Rain hits the Bay Area.8 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Heavy rain hits the Central Coast starting with Santa Cruz as it heads south.2 p.m.: Lingering showers with possible snowfall in the mountains. The mountain regions are expected to get the most rainfall with two or more inches possible.The coastal areas are projected to see one inch of rain, and the valley areas are likely to see 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of rain.Some of the higher elevation areas of the Central Coast could see snowfall, with peaks above 3,000 ft. projected to get snow around 2 p.m.
