BESSEMER, Ala. (WBMA) —
A man was injured in a shooting at a convenience store in Bessemer Wednesday afternoon.

The Bessemer Police Department said the shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Dartmouth Avenue.
Police said the shooting followed an argument between customers.
The injured man was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment. His injuries were critical but police said he is considered to be stable.

Police said they believe the injured man may have been a bystander attempting to prevent the fight.
