Washington State Patrol says a person was killed in a head-on crash Tuesday afternoon.

WSP says a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Vincent J. Carnera of Washougal, Washington, was headed east when it crossed the center lane of SR-14, hitting a vehicle headed westbound.

A passenger in the westbound vehicle, 73-year-old Mary Schafer, also of Washougal, was taken to a local hospital, where she died.

The driver of the car, 61-year-old Thomas Schafer, was also taken to a local hospital.

Carnera was taken to another local hospital, along with a 2-year-old female who was traveling with him. Police say charges are pending.
