Coronation Street's Todd Grimshaw caught out over secret feelings for Laurence

Todd Grimshaw's secret crush on Laurence Reeves will be uncovered in new Corrie scenes.

Soap insiders recently revealed that a storyline surrounding the pair will be among those featured in the Christmas episodes this year, and it all begins with Todd innocently helping a drunken and vulnerable Laurence into a cab after his split from Sean Tully.

Soon enough, Laurence and Sean have patched things up, yet the former doesn't recognise Todd's uncharacteristic despondency concerning their reunion.

At Dylan's suggestion, Sean invites his other half to join them for Christmas at Number 11, and while Todd paints on a smile, George clocks his downbeat mood.

Will the Weatherfield undertaker realise there's more going on here, and that Todd may harbour his own feelings for Laurence?

Elsewhere on the soap, actor Alan Halsall has opened up on Tyrone Dobbs's upcoming surprise proposal to Fiz Stape.

Speaking about Tyrone's decision to get down on one knee ahead of the couple's big Christmas storyline, Alan said it has "been a long time coming".

"Tyrone has proposed to Fiz before but I certainly think that everything they have been through over the last couple of years has just cemented what Tyrone wants in his life; he wants Fiz as his wife and he wants that family life," he explained.

"Tyrone thought he could find happiness somewhere else and he couldn’t because that happiness lies with Fiz and now he doesn’t want to hang around, he’s like, 'Let’s get a ring on it and let’s go!'"
