Governor Kevin Stitt is participating in the Oklahoma Pork Council's "Give a Ham" challenge.
Stitt took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce he would be donating a ham to the Jesus House.
"I'm proud to once again partner with Oklahoma farmers to encourage food donations to Oklahomans in need through the "Give a Ham" challenge," Stitt said. "Agriculture is at the heart of the Oklahoma way of life and our pig farmers and other producers literally feed the world. I encourage all Oklahomans to find your own way to serve this giving season leading up to Christmas."
Stitt nominated Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell and Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur to partake in the challenge.
The Oklahoma Pork Council kicked off the challenge with a donation of 750 pounds of pork to the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City. In addition to the meat donation, they also donated a financial gift to assist the Ronald McDonald's House mission of supporting families with hospitalized children.
