The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide in southeast Austin that happened late Tuesday night.
At 10:16 p.m. officers received a "shots fired" call in the 1800 block of South Pleasant Valley Road, according to APD.
When officers arrived on scene, a witness pointed them towards a vehicle with a man inside.
The vehicle was located in a parking lot near the intersection of East Riverside Drive and South Pleasant Valley Road.
Officers made contact with the man inside the vehicle and said he sustained severe injuries to his upper body.
First responders performed life-saving measures but unfortunately the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police are working on identifying a suspect.
