The results are in, and some common pet names remained superior in 2022.
Online marketplace Rover just released its tenth annual Top Pet Names Report, unveiling many pet name trends throughout the country and here in the valley.
According to the report, Charlie was the most popular male dog name, Max was the most common male cat name, while Luna was the most popular female dog and cat name this year in Las Vegas.
Other popular names included Milo, Rocky, Bella, Coco, and more.
Buffy and Panda were both new trending names for dogs and cats, having a triple-digit increase in name usage this year.
Names trending down included gambling-themed ones like Lucky (-30%), Cash (-18%), and Chance (-28%).
Las Vegas also continued to celebrate the Las Vegas Aces 2022 WNBA championship, with the name Ace trending up 7% for dogs, as well as the cat name Chelsea.
