Jon Thomas Mott, 39 of Flippin, Arkansas, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one charge in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol while Congress was attempting to count electoral votes.Mott pleaded guilty to parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. He had been charged with four offenses, including violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Those charges will be dropped. The maximum sentence Mott could face is six months in prison, five years probation and a $5,000 fine. A judge will issue a sentence on March 8, 2023.He agreed to pay a $500 restitution fine, to let law enforcement go through his social media, and to do an interview about his involvement in the riot.Video recordings and police bodycam captured Jon Mott moving through the U.S. Capitol building, according to a 2021 law enforcement report.In one video, Mott is seen pushing against a police officer's baton while telling him, "don't touch me" and "if you don't touch me, I won't touch you," the report states.Two of Mott's Facebook friends recognized Mott and alerted law enforcement. Charges against him include obstruction of an official proceeding, theft of government property and entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon. His trial is set for Jan. 9, 2023.Robert "Bob" Snow of Heber Springs pleaded guilty to parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. A judge sentenced him to a year of probation and $510 in fines in July 2022. He has apologized for taking part.Peter Francis Stager of Conway is accused of beating a U.S. Capitol police officer with an American flag and flagpole. He has pleaded not guilty.
