(KTTS News) — A man’s body has been found in the basement of a burning home in Monett.
Firefighters found the man while responding to a house fire in the 400 block of 2nd street.
Police are working to identify the man.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Monett Police or Barry County Crime Stoppers.

On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 1:56 PM, the Monett Fire Department was dispatched to 408 2nd. St., for a structure fire.
Monett Police Officers were also dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, a deceased male was located in the basement of the residence.
The identification of the male is not known at this time.
The case is being jointly investigated by the Monett Fire Department, Monett Police Department, and the Missouri State Fire Marshalls Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
