CLEVELAND (WJW) — The month of November is going out with a bang as strong winds usher in December.

Thousands of power outages were reported Wednesday morning and utility poles were down across the viewing area. Throughout the day, some power has been restored but not all.

6:30 p.m.

FirstEnergy is now reporting that after heavy winds knocked out power for many across Northeast Ohio, only about 1,500 residents are still without electricity. About 400 are still without power in Ashtabula County and 200 in Geauga County.

4:40 p.m.

The Country Lights Drive-thru event at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark event has been canceled Wednesday evening due to high winds. “The high winds are preventing us from keeping many of the inflatables and lighted displays up and visible,” the park said in a statement. Those with tickets can use them another night.

4:15 p.m.

A wind advisory has officially been lifted for multiple Northeast Ohio counties Wednesday afternoon. However, there are still some residents who do not have power. FirstEnergy reports nearly 7,000 still without power, including about 4,500 in Geauga County.

3 p.m.

Even more Ohio residents are getting their power restored, with FirstEnergy reporting more than 7,000 are still without power. This is down from double that earlier this afternoon. The wind advisory is supposed to expire at 4 p.m.

2 p.m.

The number now has (thankfully) moved down to more than 16,000 without power in the state, FirstEnergy has reported. They make updates to their website every 15 minutes.

1:50 p.m.

More people are without power in Northeast Ohio, with most affected in Ashtabula and Geauga Counties. FirstEnergy reports more than 18,000 without power in Ohio.

12:45 p.m.

FirstEnergy reports nearly 10,000 people still without power just before 1 p.m. The bulk of the outages are in Cuyahoga and Ashtabula counties.

11:00 a.m.

Nearly 5,000 residents in Ashtabula County are without power; over 1,000 in Mahoning County and around 800 in Cuyahoga County.

10:30 a.m.

As of 10:30 a.m., thousands of FirstEnergy customers were without power in NE Ohio. There were over 6,800 without power in Lake County, 1,000 in Ashtabula, nearly 1,000 in Cuyahoga, 600 in Portage and 550 in Stark.

10:10 a.m.

State Route 44 southbound at U.S. 422 in Geauga County is closed due to down power lines. Please avoid the area.

9:55 a.m.

A wind advisory has been issued for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga and Lake counties until 4 p.m. Wednesday. Gusts can reach up to 45 mph. Tree limbs could be torn down and cause power outages.

9:25 a.m.

Lorain County is reporting just over 500 outages. Cuyahoga has less than 800.
A tree fell onto a home in Willowick. The homeowners were not hurt. A FOX 8 camera crew was on the scene to see the damage.

8:30 a.m.

Over 2,000 outages are reported in Lorain County and nearly 1,000 in Cuyahoga.
A canopy fell at a Shell gas station in Cleveland Heights in the early morning hours.
