Lincoln car experts send warnings to ‘prepare’ as winter weather creeps in

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Before you finish checking off the rest of your holiday list, be sure to check off your car’s to-do list ahead of winter.

Graham Tire Company serves hundreds of customers each winter, and manager Wesley Scharton tells Channel 8 preparation is necessary.

“Double-check your tires, and make sure there’s enough tread to get you through the winter,” Scharton said.

He admits there weren’t any big snow storms in Lincoln last year, but warns ice on its own is dangerous enough to knock you off the roads.

“Snow and ice is absolutely horrible when dealing with low tread, double check coolant [too],” Scharton said.

He also said patience is the best practice no matter what conditions you’re driving in saying, “Just take your time, slow down, and check your vehicle before you go.”
