Janet Todd Loves a Challenge

Even though Janet Todd works as an aerospace engineer, there’s nothing that can test her skills more than a good muay thai clash in four-ounce gloves.

One Championship interim women’s atomweight muay thai champion Todd will have the chance to unify the belt with linear titleholder Allycia Rodrigues at ONE on Prime Video 5 on Dec. 2. Todd expects a hard-fought contest from her experienced opponent but is also confident of her own skills, polished over a long career. “JT” has always showcased great versatility in switching across different combat sports, earning numerous triumphs including the One Championship women’s atomweight kickboxing title she currently holds. Ahead of her upcoming clash, Todd confessed she’ll always have a soft spot for muay thai due to its impact on her professional and personal life.

“I think even for both sports though, there's always something to learn, and that's what I love about it the most. I’m constantly being challenged, I'm constantly learning. There’s nothing else like that that can challenge me the way that muay thai or kickboxing does. The reason why I love muay thai a little bit more is the martial arts that I started in, and it's the reason why I've met my husband, I've met my close friends, I got to travel all over the world for it. It's changed my life. That's why I have a little spot in my heart for it.”
