2nd Annual Holiday Decorating Contest is Underway in Rio Dell & Scotia

The second annual holiday decorating contest is underway for businesses and residents of Rio Dell and Scotia.  Sponsored by the Rio Dell-Scotia Chamber of Commerce with $1,000 in prizes again offered by the volunteer fire department that serves both communities, the contest is accepting entries until midnight December 15, after which voting by the public for the winners will take place through Christmas Day.

The details of the contest are explained on the chamber’s Facebook page under “events.”

Those interested in entering should go there to fill out the entry form or submit one’s name, address and contact information (in case you win a prize!) on paper and submit it at the chamber of commerce office, 406 Wildwood Ave., Rio Dell, using the drop-off slot on the Columbus side of the building.

Indicate if you are entering a home or business, and if it is a business, whether you want to have those voting judge the inside or the outside.  After entries close, a map and list of addresses will be uploaded to the Rio Dell Scotia Chamber Facebook events page and also be available by paper for those not online, to use in voting, which runs through Christmas Day.

First prizes of $250 will be awarded in both home and business categories; second prize is $150 in each category and third prize is $100 in each.
