Willow Makes His Triumphant Return in Disney's Long-Awaited Sequel

    More than 30 years after Willow first delighted fans, Lucasfilm’s fantasy epic continues on Disney+. The sequel series follows sorcerer Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis) as he leads an unlikely crew of heroes on a quest to protect their enchanted land from a sinister new enemy.

    Also today: Peacock bows Australia-set crime drama Irreverent, The Masked Singer unmasks its Season 8 champion, NBC broadcasts live from the 90th annual Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center, and more. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:

    Willow: Series premiere. 34 years after George Lucas introduced the world to aspiring sorcerer Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis), the saga continues with a sequel series that sees Willow embark on a harrowing journey to protect Andowyne from an even larger foe than he imagined possible. Davis reprises his iconic role opposite newcomers Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, and Ellie Bamber. One episode drops today. Watch preview. Streaming on Disney+

    Irreverent: Complete Season 1. When a criminal mediator from Chicago (played by Colin Donnell) bungles a heist, he’s forced to flee his life and hide out in a small Australian reef community in Far North Queensland posing as the new church Reverend.     The Masked Singer: Season 8 finale. The final two contestants sing their hearts out one last time in hopes of claiming the Golden Mask Trophy. The first hour of the super-sized finale serves as a recap of the season, while the second half brings new performances and two big unmaskings. 8:00 PM ET on Fox

    90th Annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center: Special presentation. The Today crew hosts NBC’s annual tree-lighting ceremony, featuring musical performances from Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, and Andrea Bocelli. 8:00 PM ET on NBC

    Take Your Pills: Xanax: Original documentary. Four years after Netflix explored the widespread use of Adderall, it returns to the well with a new feature-length documentary about widely-prescribed anxiety medication Xanax. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Snacks Vs. Chef: Complete Season 1. 12 chefs go head-to-head in the ultimate snack showdown in Netflix’s latest cooking competition.     Love Without Borders: Series premiere. Five American singles travel the globe in search of love in this new series that matches them with people living in different countries, sight unseen.
