A pair of Cincinnati Bearcats players - sophomore quarterback Brady Lichtenberg and redshirt freshman tight end Chamon Metayer - showed support via Twitter for UC offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli to replace Luke Fickell as the school's head coach.

Guidugli, in his first season as the Bearcats' OC, starred at Highlands High School as well as for the Bearcats.

From Lichtenberg and Metayer via Twitter on Tuesday night:

Guidugli, 39, played quarterback at UC from 2001 to 2004. He joined the Bearcats' staff in 2017 as running backs coach. He started coaching QBs in 2018 and was named passing game coordinator in 2020.

Fickell, introduced earlier this week as the Wisconsin Badgers' new head coach, agreed to a seven-year deal that averages $7.8 million per year. He said he intends to help his new team with its bowl-game preparation.

Interim head coach Kerry Coombs is expected to lead the Bearcats in their bowl game.
