Started in 1985 as a soup kitchen in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, the Port Ministries has grown to match the needs of its community to include a clinic, bread truck, afterschool program and more. The organization’s executive director David Hommy Gonzalez joins Lisa Dent to explain how they address the underlining issues that limit the potential of people living in under-serviced communities and rely on volunteers to help.
