A quirky Cape Coral tradition will soon see its fifth installment, as the city’s official bird will again serve as the prognosticator of weather to come. The burrowing owl takes center stage as the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife and Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department host the annual “Ground Owl Day” on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. at Pelican Baseball Complex, in what is the city’s take on Groundhog Day. FDLE arrests Cape Coral woman in connection with ‘seven-figure embezzlement scheme’
A Cape Coral woman is facing a pair of felonies after a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation into a possible embezzlement where she previously worked.
