KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Taylor Kennedy,
Kiera Kuzinski and
Alejandra Puerto were honored by the United Soccer Coaches Association and placed on the Division II Women's All-Atlantic Region Second Team, the association revealed Tuesday (Nov. 29).
Kennedy started in goal for the Falcons in all 21 matches. The senior goalkeeper was named All-Mountain East Conference First Team and snatched 86 saves in her final season at Fairmont State. Kennedy was selected to the 2022 MEC All-Tournament Team for her performance in the conference tournament. Kennedy did not surrender a goal in the three tournament matches and made a crucial save in penalty kicks that gave Fairmont State its first MEC Tournament crown.
Kuzinski consistently delivered as a striker for the Falcons during the 2022 season. The junior forward scored a league-leading 17 goals. The former MEC Freshman of the Year totaled three multi-goal games and scored three times in a match versus Glenville State and Wheeling. Kuzinski also picked up All-Atlantic Region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
Puerto landed on the all-region second team after an impressive freshman campaign. The Honduras native tallied seven goals and six assists in 20 starts. Puerto received postseason MEC recognition, as she was named All-MEC Second Team and placed on the All-MEC Freshman Team.
