SPOKANE, Wash. — Holiday lights will soon be returning to Cowley Park, a yearly tradition carried out by Mark Peterson and the Extreme Team.

The team’s been hard at work, getting as much done as possible before Wednesday’s winter storm.

Once it’s all said and done though, the snow will make for an amazing backdrop when we flip the switch for the big reveal.

On Tuesday, volunteers from Horizon Credit Union, Ace Hardware, and the National Utility Contractors Association helped hang up lights closer to the ground, whereas Avista linemen helped set up lights high in the trees on Monday.

“This project is for the people in the hospital, so if you’re in those windows and you look down, that’s what we do this for. We do it for the people walking to work every day, we do it for the people that are just looking out the window for a moment of peace, that’s why we do this,” said Dawn Gregg, local Ace Hardware Store owner and part of the board of directors for the Children’s Miracle Network.

Because of the snow storm, the Extreme Team will hold off on the project on Wednesday, but they will get back to work on Thursday for the final reveal!
