Pregame

Syracuse and Illinois battle Tuesday night in the last edition of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

The conferences and ESPN jointly announced Monday this will be the final year the two leagues go head-to-head in a post-Thanksgiving scheduling frenzy.

Starting next season, the ACC will face the SEC in early nonconference action. Any early guesses on who the Orange draws for that?

More pressing for Syracuse is the opportunity to score a signature non-conference victory on the road to boost its NCAA Tournament resume by the end of the season.

The Illini boast a high-powered offense and a key transfer from Texas Tech in Terrence Shannon Jr., who leads the team in scoring (20.3 points per game) and assists (3.8) and ranks second on the team in rebounding (6.2).
