RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – All lanes of Gordon Highway at Highland Avenue have since reopened after a crash Tuesday night involving a utility pole supporting a traffic signal at the intersection.
According to investigators, when a vehicle struck the support pole, it caused a set of traffic signals to fall into the intersection. Gordon Highway remained closed for quite some time after the accident while crews worked to get the traffic lights hanging again.
As of Wednesday morning, the intersection was reopened in all directions, but the fallen utility pole remained on the side of the road.
There is currently no information on injuries from the crash, nor about what led up to the cause of it.
