The Janesville City Council is trying to keep up with new information on the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center after a presentation by city staff and the Friends of the WSCC at Monday night’s city council meeting.
City Councilor Heather Miller says the ability to trust city staff and the stakeholders is tough because the administration was closing doors and withholding information, and now the council needs to do damage control and give details to the public.
Miller says those working on the project were told not to release information on the WSCC until it was finalized, and citizens deserve to have all the details before they’re asked to give money to the project.
The Janesville City council will now recommend or not recommend a borrowing amount for the project at their next meeting on December 12th.
