One injured in crash on Donnell Lake Street

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - One person was injured in a crash on Donnell Lake Street in Penn Township Tuesday morning, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the road, just west of Lewis Lake, at 5:59 a.m.

According to the investigation, a Vandalia resident was driving when she saw an animal in the road and swerved to miss it.

In doing so, the vehicle ran off the road and hit a large tree.

The driver was taken to the hospital for her injuries.

Seatbelts were worn in the crash and alcohol was not a factor, according to deputies.
