Democratic Party headquarters in Athens burglarized, laptop stolen and office trashed
Athens-Clarke police detectives are investigating a burglary that was discovered this week at the Athens-Clarke County Democratic Party headquarters on Sunset Drive.
The intruder flipped over tables and stole a laptop, police Lt. Shaun Barnett said on Tuesday.
The office had been locked the Saturday evening and a person who showed up for a meeting Sunday morning discovered the burglary, Barnett said.

The doors were locked when this person arrived, but police said there were no signs of a forced entry.
There are no suspects, police said.
A spokesman for the office could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.
