(KNSI) – The ROCORI School District took fast action after some students reported that something was out of sorts on Tuesday.

According to ROCORI Secondary Principal Ryan Hauge, an unsubstantiated social media post indicated a potential threat to ROCORI schools. Administrators say the students quickly reported the post to adults. The ROCORI Secondary administration and Cold Spring Police Department started investigating immediately.

The post was based on overheard information, and the school says it followed up with all students involved. School administrators thanked the students who saw something and reported it right away.

School officials are reminding parents to talk to their students about the importance of the words they use or post on social media and the consequences.

According to school officials, there are no additional concerns for student safety.
