Austin police are still working to identify the driver who died after crashing into a utility pole and a business sign on Sunday.
In an updated press release, the Austin Police Department said the single-vehicle crash happened on Sunday, November 27 in the 8800 block of South Congress Avenue at 1:26 a.m.
The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a pick-up truck was traveling south on Congress Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and hit a utility pole.
The driver died on the scene. Police have yet to identify him.

This is Austin's 98th fatal crash case with 102 fatalities as a result of crashes for the year.
