Demolition begins at old St. Joe’s

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Demolition began Wednesday morning at the former St. Joseph’s Riverside Hospital.

A lot of heavy machinery could be seen at the site of the vacant building on Tod Avenue on Tuesday morning, and on Wednesday, crews began tearing the building down.

Cambell-based ProQuality Demolition is doing the work.

The push to rid the city of the blighted building has been more than 20 years in the making. The project is partially funded through a $3.4 million Brownfield Remediation program grant and should be done by early spring.
