The Bedford Rotary’s 34th annual holiday breakfast is back after a three-year hiatus.
Join the Rotary Club for its Winter Community Breakfast (formerly Breakfast with Santa) from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Dec. 11 in the Bedford High School cafeteria. Tickets will be available at the door- $10 per person, children under one year are free.
As in past years, there will be a hot pancake breakfast, crafts, photos with Santa, and a commemorative coloring book for the children to take home.
New this year will be a winter photo booth and activity tables from the Rotary’s community partners at the Parents Diversity Council, BEST/PTO, and the Bedford Arts and Crafts Society.
Live music will be provided by Bedford students through POMS – Patrons of Music Students.
The Bedford Rotary Club is excited to hold this inclusive event welcoming all members of the growing and diverse Bedford community.
Everyone is also invited to bring an entry for the Rotary’s Edible Snow Person/Creature Building Contest- open to children, ages 2-12. The snow creature needs to be created with all edible ingredients (Rotary members will not be eating the entries) and it must sit on a base no larger than a standard sheet of paper. People must pre-register their creation to participate. Check the Rotary’s website for more details and to register.
The funds raised at the event will benefit the Bedford Rotary Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of the Bedford Rotary that enables the Rotary’s positive change efforts in Bedford and around the world.
In 2021-2022, the Bedford Rotary Foundation supported organizations and initiatives in Bedford (Girl Scouts, Destination Imagination, bicycle helmets and lights, Bedford TV, and scholarships), Haiti (educational facility), Kenya (catchment basins and shoes for people with clubfoot, and Ukraine (disaster relief). In 2022-23, the Bedford Rotary will be creating a Pollinator Garden in the center of Bedford.
Any individual or business/organization who would like to join in as a sponsor of the Breakfast by placing an ad in the commemorative coloring book that will be distributed to 300 children is welcome to do so. Ads will be accepted through Thursday, Dec. 1. Email [email protected] for pricing.
Student and adult volunteers are needed to help run the Winter Community Breakfast. Please email Dawn at [email protected] for the signup link. High school students will be given credit for community service hours.
Also, visit the Rotary table at the Bedford Fire Station at the Town Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 4-5 p.m. The Rotary will be giving out 250 battery operated lights to children to help keep them safe when walking or biking in the evening. First come, first served.
