PITTSBURGH – Junior forward Bertin Jacquesson was named Top Drawer Soccer's Player of the Week while Valentin Noel also earned a spot on the Men's Team of the Week for the week of Nov. 29, as announced by the website Tuesday afternoon.
 
The dynamic duo of Jacquesson and Noel were pivotal for Pitt Sunday night as they netted both goals for the Panthers as they were able to secure a road upset victory over previously unbeaten and #1 Kentucky. With the win over the Wildcats, Pitt advanced to their third straight Elite Eight and earned a home contest with a chance to move on to the College Cup.
 
Noel opened the scoring for the Panthers Sunday in the 53^rd minute as he battled for position in the Wildcats box and volleyed home a rebound after a header shot by Jackson Gilman bounced off the hands of the keeper. It marked his team-leading 10^th goal of the season.
 
Playing a man down after a red card, the Panthers were able to break through with the game-winning goal off the right foot of Jacquesson. The Frenchman took a Josh Luchini feed and created some space at the top of the box before unleashing a laser into the upper left corner in the 87^th minute to secure the road win for Pitt. The goal marked his eighth of the season and his third game-winning goal.
 
On the year, Noel leads the squad with 10 goals, three assists and 23 points in 19 games while Jacquesson has played in 17 matches and has recorded eight goals, four assists and 20 points. They are the highest scoring duo in the ACC as they have scored a combined 53 goals in their careers.
 
The Panthers (11-4-5) will host Portland on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm on ESPN+. The winner of Saturday's match will move on to the College Cup in Cary, NC.
