HEBER CITY, Utah – Heber City council is hosting a public hearing on December 6 to provide citizens with pertinent information about the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and receive public input regarding an amendment to the city’s 2022-2023 Fiscal Year Budget.

This public hearing will cover eligible activities, program requirements, and expected funding allocations in the region provided by the CDBG. The CDBG Program can fund a broad range of activities, including, but not limited to, construction of public works and facilities, e.g., water and sewer lines, fire stations, acquisition of real property, and provision of public services such as food banks or homeless shelters.

The CDBG is a program directed by the Utah Department of Workforce Services, a federally funded program administered by the State of Utah and the Housing and Community Development Division (HCD). Heber City can apply for CDBG funding provided the city meets the applicable program requirements.

If Heber City chooses to apply for CDBG funding, a second public hearing will be held later to discuss the project.

City Council is also welcoming public input regarding the city’s 2023 fiscal year budget, and comments may be delivered in person or by attending virtually via the link found on the city’s website . The proposed budget amendments can be viewed by contacting the Heber City Recorder’s Office at 435-657-7886.

The meeting will be held on December 6 at 6 p.m. at the Heber City Council Chambers (75 N Main Street). Further information can be obtained by contacting the Heber City Planning Department at 435-654-4830.
