A new study shows just how long-lasting the Toyota brand’s models are in comparison to their peers.

A new study released by iSeeCars shows that Toyota makes six of the top-ten-ranked vehicles for longevity. Among the top 20 vehicles, ten are Toyotas. Toyota has long made quality, reliability, and durability its main focus areas. What we found interesting is the wide range of different Toyota models that make the list.

iSeeCars.com researchers poured over registration data for over two million cars produced and sold for at least 10 of the past 20 model years. The team then ranked each model by its highest mileage-achieving cars.

“What we see is a list of highly-durable vehicles, capable of more than a quarter-million miles of use if properly maintained,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “And to be clear, this study isn’t reporting the maximum lifespan of these vehicles. This is simply a measure of current odometer readings. Most of these cars are still in use and going strong.”

The Toyota Sequoia and Land Cruiser were numbers one and two on the listing. Both had lifespan potentials approaching 300,000 miles. The Toyota Prius was the top-ranked car on the list. The Toyota Tundra was the top-ranked truck on the list. The Sienna was the top-ranked minivan on the list. Three Toyota Hybrids made the list, and no other brand had a green vehicle of any kind do so.

“Cars like the Prius and Camry Hybrid offer exceptional fuel economy,” remarked Brauer. “They can save car owners up to $10,000 in fuel costs over the course of 250,000 miles compared to similarly-sized non-hybrid vehicles, making all those miles much easier to afford.”

Here is a list of the Toyota models that made the top 20 and their ranking:
1) Sequoia
2) Land Cruiser
4) Tundra
6) Prius
9) Avalon
10) Highlander Hybrid
12) 4Runner
13) Sienna
17) Tacoma
20) Camry Hybrid

General Motors’ various brands and models comprised six of the top 20 models. Three Ford models made the list.
