Suspect arrested for murder of Ronald Ortiz
NEW YORK, NY – Police have announced the arrest of 22-year-old Shamur Wiltshire, of Brooklyn, for the September 14th murder of 30-year-old Ronald Ortiz. Wiltshire has been charged with murder. According to police, on Wednesday, September 14, just before noon, police responded to a call of a male shot in front of 765 Stanley Avenue. Upon arriving at the Boulevard Houses, officers found a 30-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. EMS responded to the location and transported the male to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Wiltshire was taken into custody on Sunday.

Bushwick shooting victim died at hospital
NEW YORK, NY – A 32-year-old man shot twice in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn Sunday afternoon has died in the hospital, the NYPD reported today. According to police at around 12:45 pm on Sunday, Lamel Murphy was found in the area of 35 Coverts Street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg. Murphy, a Bronx resident, was later pronounced dead at the hospital. At this time, no suspects have been identified. No arrests have been made.

Two suspects charged in Staten Island convenience store armed robbery
NEW YORK, NY – Two suspects wanted for an armed robbery last Sunday at a Staten Island convenience store have been arrested. Police charged 51-year-old James Christian and 36-year-old Jovani Garcia for a holdup that took place at Armstrong Convenience Store at around 7:20 pm on Hylan Boulevard. Police released a video showing the suspects entered the store, and one pulled a gun and demanded CBD vape products. The store clerk, a 48-year-old man, refused to comply with the suspect’s demand. 13-year-old charged with gang-related murder of 17-year-old in Coney Island
NEW YORK, NY – Three teens were arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a 17-year-old in Brooklyn last Friday. On January 20th, police were called to 3001 Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island for a reported stabbing incident. Upon arrival, police located a 17-year-old male with a stab wound to the torso. He was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. On Saturday, 17-year-old Nyheem Wright died at the hospital. A week later, on Sunday, detectives with the NYPD’s 60th Precinct arrested three teenagers. A 13-year-old male was charged with murder and gang assault.

17-year-old shot and killed in East Harlem
NEW YORK, NY – A 17-year-old was shot and killed Sunday evening in East Harlem. According to police, officers heard shots fired in the area of 425 East 105th Street at around 5:15 pm. Upon their arrival on scene, officers from the city’s 23rd Precinct learned the 17-year-old victim had already been transported to the hospital. Three injured in Sunday afternoon Bronx fire
NEW YORK, NY – Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the Bronx at around 2 pm on Sunday at 1211 Evergreen Avenue. FDNY Deputy Chief Donlevy said three people were injured in the fire he described as “intensive”. One of those victims was listed as being in critical condition. “Units did their searches, and the fire ended up producing three injuries, one serious; they are all being evaluated at this time,” Chief Donlevy said. The two-alarm fire is under investigation by FDNY Fire Marshals.

Dispute on NYC subway train leads to shooting
NEW YORK, NY – A 34-year-old man was shot twice while riding the southbound N train in the area of Broadway and Canal Street early Saturday morning. Police said the train was approaching the Canal Street subway station at around 1:00 pm when a verbal dispute between the victim and an unknown male turned into a shooting. One killed in early morning fatal hit-and-run in Glen Rock
GLEN ROCK, NJ – A pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning in Glen Rock. The driver involved in the crash fled the scene, according to police. The incident occurred at around 6:30 am on Lincoln Avenue between Dixie Avenue and Parker Avenue. According to police, the pedestrian involved in this crash has died; the decedent’s name is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin. At this time, the police did not release any further information.

Bronx drive-by shooters identified by police
NEW YORK – Two suspects wanted for a December 2nd drive-by shooting in the Bronx have been identified by police through video surveillance footage. Photos of the two men who shot a 41-year-old man from inside a 2020 gray KIA Soul were released by 47th Precinct detectives on Saturday. According to police, at around 11 pm that day, the suspects fired into a building, striking the man once in his left hand. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and treated for his injuries. 68-year-old woman victim of unknown chemical attack on Canal Street
NEW YORK, NY – A 68-year-old woman was the victim of an attack involving an unknown chemical that was thrown at her while walking in Lower Manhattan last Thursday. Detectives from the NYPD’s 1st Precinct reported that a 60-year-old woman was walking west on Canal Street near Mercer Street when she was attacked. At around 2:00 p.m., an unknown suspect approached the woman and threw an unidentified liquid into her face. Police reported that the victim suffered irritation to her face and eyes. The elderly woman was treated by FDNY EMS at the scene, the suspect flooded an unknown direction.

Firefighters at three-alarm fire in the Bronx
NEW YORK – Firefighters in New York City responded to a residential fire in the area of 843 Freeman Street Monday morning. At this time, there are no reports of injuries. NEW YORK, NY – Early Saturday morning, firefighters from FDNY responded to a car fire at the intersection of Mott Avenue and Bay 25th Street in Queens. Hazmat team called to deal with rabbit neglect case in Toms River
TOMS RIVER, NJ – Toms River police officers and the Berkeley Township HAZMAT team responded to a home in Toms River where an alleged abuse and neglect case involving rabbits was reported. According to Toms River Police, officer James Colline responded to Harrison Road on a referral from Toms River Animal Control regarding rabbits in the backyard of the home. NEW YORK, NY – Police in Staten Island are searching for 51-year-old Peter Clark, wanted for the stabbing assault of a woman outside her home near Broad Street and Warren Street in St. George.
