Man killed after being hit by car on State Road 82 in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Fort Myers man died Monday evening after he was hit by a car while crossing State Road 82 in Lee County.

Around 7:47 p.m., a 20-year-old man driving a Nissan Murano was driving east on SR 82 in the right lane, west of Gateway Boulevard, when he crashed into the man, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver from Fort Myers received no injuries.

FHP is continuing to investigate.
