Man arrested after stealing from Home Depot in Rutland

RUTLAND — A 42-year-old man was arrested in Rutland on Saturday.

Authorities were notified of a retail theft at Home Depot at around 10:30 a.m.

While en route, police say they were told the man was caught by customers stealing a shopping cart full of merchandise and was in the parking lot.

Police identified Timothy E. Shaw, of Rutland, as the person who stole the property.

Shaw was arrested for grand larceny as the value of the merchandise was over $900.00.

He was also in violation of conditions of release which stated he could not enter upon the property owned by Home Depot.

He was issued a citation to appear in court and was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Center for a separate case handled by Rutland Town Police Department.
