Thanksgiving Day motorcycle accident in Western Coffee Co. causes serious injuries

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN)—Enterprise Rescue Inc. is being credited with helping save the life of an Elba woman involved in a single-vehicle motorcycle wreck Thanksgiving morning.

Recently, Enterprise Rescue became one of the few ambulance services not affiliated with a hospital that receives critical care status.

It’s an employee-owned, non-profit that maintains ambulances in both Enterprise and Elba.

When Kim Petty left the roadway and crashed her motorcycle into an embankment on Herman Driggers Drive on Coffee County Road 239 about two miles north of Elba Thursday morning.

Ambulance personnel was able to render life-saving care alongside the highway that previously would have only been permitted in a healthcare facility.

Enterprise Rescue’s Arnold Woodham, says such care will save lives when seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

Petty is being treated at an acute trauma center in Montgomery. We’re told she has gone through multiple surgeries since her accident on Thanksgiving morning.
