Report: Beam Suntory Considers Offloading Pinnacle Vodka, Cruzan Rum

Beam Suntory is reportedly eyeing a potential divestiture of brands like Pinnacle vodka and Cruzan rum as it continues to shape its portfolio toward growth categories like American whiskey and Tequila. Bloomberg reported that such a divestiture could total a few hundred million dollars. Pinnacle was at approximately 2.3 million cases in the U.S. last year, down slightly over the past few years, while Cruzan has hovered around 800,000 cases, according to Impact Databank. The news comes as Beam Suntory continues to push toward a goal of achieving 25% profit margin. Separately, Nikkei Asia reported that Beam Suntory continues to be on the hunt for potential acquisition opportunities, especially in the agave segment.—Daniel Marsteller
