Downtown BG businesses incentive shopping local Christmas 2022

Small Business Sat, Cyber Monday & Beyond

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cyber Monday is here, and purchasing presents for loved ones is at the top of everyones’ minds.

On Small Business Saturday, Downtown Bowling Green joined locally-owned businesses across the nation by offering up holiday savings.

News 40 spoke to a few Bowling Green businesses who encourage you to shop locally while you’re crossing off your Christmas list.

Candle Makers on the Square explains that when you shop locally, you can actually support the local vendors who are supplying the business you walk in – keeping holiday shopping money right here in the community.

Candle Makers on the Square Manager Rachel Summar said, “So it’s a win-win for the store, and for those vendors, and also for the money that goes back into our community locally.”

Back Down South Sales Associate Rylee Welscher added, “It’s kind of something special that you can just kind of carry on throughout like shopping small, because a lot of people in this community own these businesses on the square.”

That Bizzi B Associate Worker Bailey Thomas said, “When you are supporting a small business ,and when you go in and shop, it’s just showing how much you care for them and how much you care for everything that they’re putting all their effort and work into as well.”
