The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, and they head into the game with a huge advantage.

The Dallas Cowboys enter Week 13 with an 8-3 record, one of the best marks in the league. While they’re favored to beat the Indianapolis Colts anyway, they have the advantage of entering the game well-rested after roughly a week and a half off.

They played the New York Giants at home on Thanksgiving Day for Week 12, and their Week 13 matchup against the Colts is also at home, another advantage as they don’t have to travel.

The Colts, on the other hand, have much less time in between with their Week 12 matchup on Monday and Week 13 on Sunday. They’ll also have to travel, which could take away some energy.

Dallas is a team to fear down the stretch. They have great starters and depth this season with Dak Prescott officially back in and Cooper Rush holding it down extremely well in Prescott’s absence.

The Cowboys continue to look like serious contenders as the season enters the final stretch.

Cowboys are one of the best teams in the league this season

Dallas has a nice, well-rounded team, which is something most teams struggle with. A lot of teams have great offense but lackluster defense or vice versa, but the Cowboys have impact players on each line, and can win the game up front.

They have both Prescott and Rush as quarterbacks who have proven to be reliable, even under tough circumstances. Prescott has only played in six games because he sat out for over a month with a fractured thumb, but he certainly hasn’t disappointed in his return.

This season, he’s recorded 124 completions for a completion percentage of 68.1 percent. Prescott’s thrown for 1,391 yards — an average of 7.7 yards per pass — and 10 touchdowns. He’s wasted no time in his comeback.

They also have CeeDee Lamb at wideout who has been working extremely well with Prescott. In the Week 12 game alone, he had six receptions over 106 yards for an average of 17.7 yards per reception.

Amidst such a talented offensive line, the Cowboys also have one of the best defenses in the league, leading the NFL in sacks (45) and have allowed the least amount of passing yards by opponents (1,955). They fall second-best in other areas, including points allowed (187) and touchdowns allowed (8).

Micah Parsons is notable as he’s recorded 11 sacks this season, ranking third in the league.

Dallas had quite an advantage coming into the Week 13 matchup regardless, but now they have even more of one with a little bit of extra time to rest.
