North Carolina drops to No. 18, Duke falls to No. 17 in AP Top 25 poll

The North Carolina men's basketball team dropped to No. 18 and Duke fell to No. 17 in the Monday release of the AP Top 25 college basketball poll.

North Carolina (5-2) had been No. 1 all season, but lost to Iowa State and to Alabama in quadruple overtime at the Phil Knight Invitational.

Duke (6-2) lost Sunday to Purdue by a final score of 75-56.

Houston (6-0) is ranked No. 1 for first time since 1983.

Virginia (5-0) is the highest ranked ACC team at No. 3.
