WINDSOR, Va. (WAVY) — A tractor-trailer was struck by a train Monday afternoon in Windsor.

Virginia State Police say the tractor-trailer caught fire and part of it went into a nearby ditch at Windsor Boulevard and Route 258, near the Burger King and Dairy Queen.

Norfolk Southern confirmed there were no reports of injuries from this incident.

State police said the truck became disabled on the tracks before it was struck by the Norfolk Southern train.

Roadways reopened just before 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 56-year-old Keith Edward Deiters, of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been charged with failure to obey railroad crossing signals.
